<description>You must remember that the energy required to power these devices must come from somewhere. By using food you must remember that it takes far more embodied energy and resources to make the food. If you want to power your kettle, you would hypothetically need to consume the energy required (power consumption x seconds) which would could potentially mean:

- Eating a packet of dried dates
- Digesting them over eight hours.
- Supplying your bodily needs.
- Distributing the energy through your bloodstream.
- Extracting the energy from the blood (glucose)
- Storing this energy for conversion in 240V power.

In effect the system may not efficient in terms of energy in versus energy output. This can be represented by a percentage.

Your idea is noble but I would be concerned on the scale in which it is being applied. Look into mobile phones, Ipods, cameras and maybe laptops. The issue with this project is it requires a foothold in reality depending in what what direction you go. If you are posing this a artistic, provocative piece then go for it but if you want to create something like this for commercial production in the future then the electrical requirements and efficiency&#039;s need to be acquired.

Dont punch me too hard.
